Unified Streaming Platform Roadmap
This is a development roadmap. We plan to *start* working on the features in the given quarter.
Also note that this list may change.
2010 / Q4
- Add VOD and LIVE play-out support for Adobe Dynamic Streaming / OSMF ( Open Source Media Framework).
- Add LIVE play-out support for Lighttpd 1.4/1.5 and Nginx.
- Investigate the different DRM solutions available (Microsoft's PlayReady, Adobe's Flash Access 2.0 and Apple's Content Encryption).
- Add archiving / rollover for LIVE streaming.
- Add support for VOD playback of f4m/f4f/f4x (Adobe's format), but *only* for playback on Zeri/OSMF.
2011 / Q1
- Implement Microsoft's PlayReady content encryption.
- Implement Apple's Content Encryption.
TBD
- Support for multiple audio tracks/languages.
- Support for subtitles.
- Support for Basic/Digest authentication in FFmpeg when using large HTTP POST ( http://username:password@videoserver/live.isml).
